LYTLE CREEK, California ? Police are seeking the public?s help in locating the family of a transient by the name of Dondi Allen Quimby, 42, after he was struck and killed early Sunday morning in the 200 block of Lytle Creek Road, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department press release.

Quimby was walking on Lytle Creek Road about 12:53 a.m. when he was struck by the unidentified vehicle. The report did not indicate whether or not the driver was cited or arrested at the scene of the crash.

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the pedestrian crash to determine its cause and whether there was any negligence involved on the part of the driver.

Anyone with information about Quimby?s family is asked to call the coroner at 909-387-2978.

?Both pedestrians and drivers have a duty to exercise care when crossing roadways or driving on them, but drivers have a higher duty of care toward pedestrians as they are the more vulnerable to injury or death if they two collide,? Attorney West Seegmiller said.
