2:30 PM: The family of Joe Paterno released another statement Monday: "The sanctions announced by the NCAA today defame the legacy and contributions of a great coach and educator without any input from our family or those who knew him best."

2:15 PM: New Penn State Board of Trustees member Anthony Lubrano - whose campaign video said the Jerry Sandusky scandal was "not a Joe Paterno scandal" - said of the NCAA's penalties: "My view is that we rolled over and played dead. They (Board members) want to put Paterno behind them."

2:00 PM: For those who have seen a Twitter account @C10Jones asking for retweets & follows to donate money to the families of the Colorado theater shooting victims, the Atlanta Braves point out that this is not Chipper Jones' real account.

12:00 PM: WHTM notes that with Penn State's victories from 1998 to 2011 vacated, the last Nittany Lions QB to win a game for Joe Paterno was Mike McQueary in a 35-10 defeat of Wisconsin on Nov. 22, 1997.

11:15 AM: The Big Ten announces that for the next four years Penn State will be ineligible for the title game & not receive any bowl revenue from the conference.

11:00 AM: Former NHL player Dan Quinn won his fourth American Century golf title Sunday, beating out former NFL QB Mark Rypien & Denver Broncos VP John Elway. Quinn will caddy for 2012 British Open champ Ernie Els at next week's Canadian Open.
